During the summer of 1976, Richard and Susan Johnson moved to Port Clyde, Me., where they established Port Clyde Pottery. Lupine, wildflower and nautical pottery & tiles are hand-thrown or slab-built by April V. Adams & Dana McEacharn in their studios in Downeast Maine.
Paine’s Balsam works with local balsam trees. Pillows are custom made to order and an aromatic Maine treat to freshen whatever space they are in. First, balsam branches are brought to us by local woodsmen, where they are then ground and dried. It is next pressed into incense molds and finally dried… That’s it!
Designing and printing since the 70s, Liberty Graphics of Liberty Maine was established by a locally based community of artists and artisans. With an emphasis on environmental concerns and years of experience with water-based ink and hand-separated artwork, printing is accurately detailed and brilliantly colored.
Acadia Trail Signs Company makes reproduction trails signs like the ones seen in Acadia National Park. The cedar signs measure 18 x 3 1/2 inches and feature the names of trails, mountain summits, MDI villages and towns, and special places in and around Acadia.
